After an evening of bar-hopping around Dogenzaka, 英鮨 渋谷店 is a dependable place to turn when you feel like sushi. Open from 5 pm until 6 am, it fits a dinner out as readily as a second stop or a late-night final bite. Counter and table seating give the lively, casual sushi-izakaya setting room for both solo meals and conversations with a group.
Sushi is available one piece at a time, with a broad choice of toppings including octopus, squid tentacles, flying fish roe, egg, horse mackerel and salmon. You can mix familiar choices such as tuna, kohada and cured mackerel with sea urchin, fatty tuna and extra-fatty tuna. For a fuller meal, there are assorted sets such as the upper-grade, special-grade and daimyo nigiri assortments; fine rolls are another useful option for tailoring the order to your appetite.
Beyond sushi, the menu includes small plates such as tuna cut-offs, assorted sashimi and chawanmushi, a savoury steamed egg custard. Drinks include beer, highballs and sake, and an all-you-can-drink option is available when paired with a banquet course. Payment by credit card, PayPay and Rakuten Pay is accepted.
